Innovative design increases the efficiency of fund and insurance administration

Itello's new generation standard system started as a procurement assignment back in 1996. The goal of the assignment was to find a system on the market that met a number of criteria, for example, it should handle all types of personal insurances, handle insurance and pension saving, be easy to use, and provide effective administrative support for the entire customer relationship process. A system could not be found that met all the criteria. What was lacking was a system based on the core business, that is, the administration of contracts and benefits.

Insurance contracts are administered for 20 to 30 years and then paid out during a long period of time. This makes it difficult to simplify the administrative process. This was Itello's starting point for analysis and design of the new generation insurance system.

Initially, the goal was to develop support for new products rather than total administrative support. The cross-market and occupational pension market showed large growth potential. Thereafter, the work to manage, refine, and deepen the functionality continued.

The demands of the operation turned into a vision: To develop an insurance system that focuses on what is important — to make the administrative process for all types of personal insurances simpler and automatic. To make the system flexible, from both an insurance and IT perspective, it was built to be database and platform independent. A standardised interface was introduced so that the system was easy to integrate with other systems.

In January 2003, Itello started its operation as an independent system and service provider. Itello's next step is to develop as a product company, where we offer new generation support and services —offering total support to our customers: From operation analysis, requirements specification, and migration to ongoing development and maintenance.
